Developing Patient-Centric Healthcare Delivery Models: Dr. Malcolm Luker, Vice President, Home Clinical Monitoring (HCM) Phillips,

Many innovations in MedTech focus on the science and the advances in the technology.  Less attention is placed on how these innovations will be used in the care pathways of patients and how they will fit in the day to day activity of the healthcare professional and patient.

This presentation will highlight the benefits of involving patients and carers in the development and design of the innovation, from day one, to increase chances of successful commercial implementation of the innovation.

What's your Value Proposition? Reimbursement for MedTech in NHS England and ways of Accelerating National Adoption: Michael Branagan-Harris, Device Access UK, CEO
Location:  Main Stage

The NHS is as everyone knows facing huge system demands -  in 2014 The Nuffield Trust recommended a roll out of 22 x 800 bed hospitals before 2022 just to meet current demands.

NHS Medical Director Sir Bruce Keogh says, ‘Only technology will save the NHS”, but it is increasingly more and more difficult to gain traction with new technologies that offer solutions in terms or productivity, improved patient outcomes and reduced cost.

In this session, Michael Branagan-Harris from Device Access UK will help you understand NHS Hospital activity and reimbursement and how this helps industry successfully navigate the carpeted areas of a hospital to become a trusted solution partner to the hospital and the NHS, not just a provider of product.

15:00 - 15:30
Developments in Credentialing - the Life Sciences Register: Andrew Davies, ABHI, Director, Market Access & Janet Monkman, Academy for Healthcare Science, CEO
Location:  Main Stage
A surge of interest within the NHS in credentialing has fostered a quasi-market for
credentialing services. The ad-hoc nature of this approach risks increasing system costs and bureaucracy. Andrew will outline working being undertaken to develop an independently accredited, single national scheme for credentialing, based on a proven model from the Professional Standards Authority.
